If you feel compelled to send hate or threats, I ask one small favor first: please take a moment to read about my childhood and early years. Much of what I experienced was surrounded by ‘God,’ the Bible, churches, and religious authority. Those experiences shaped me deeply. I share this not to provoke anger. Based on what I lived through, I cannot reconcile my reality with the idea of God as described in the Bible. You may disagree—but I ask that you understand where I am coming from before responding.
